More apples or one delicious and juicier apple? Simply, quantity or quality?
Human wants are always insatiable. Okay, most people are not satisfied with everything they have. Two crumplers would be better for somebody who already own one. A medium MacDonald's fries would be preferred over a small. A $10 note is never enough; not that 100 pieces of that is enough.
But this is reality. As Teletubbies would shout 'again, again', haven't we always been shouting 'more, more and more'? Even uniformed groups and the army teaches us to ask for more push-ups; we were expected to reply with 'many many more' when the sir ask the question of 'How many more?' just before the last push-up is done. More is good, more is very good. That is what we are taught and that is what we learn.
However, do we really need more? Is the rice provided so little that we need that additional potion, or are we asking for more, because more rice is good? Do we necessarily need it or are we just being greedy?
Now now, do you need to eat ribeye and sirloin from the best steakhouse in the country or can you make do with black pepper chicken chop that cost around $5?
We want the best. We want what is good. But consider, if you have the best, the best for everything, what are the rest going to have? The second best? The not-so-good ones? Ain't that just being selfish?
If you can choose, but only to choose one; quality or quantity, which one would you choose?
I would choose one top-notch apple. That is quality. One would be enough. But that one must be good. What is the point of having so many of something that are not of top grade. Might as well trade all of these for something good.
What about you? What will you choose?
